WHEN DO YOU START BILLING TIME?

The clock starts from the time the movers arrive at your pick-up address. The hourly rate runs through loading, driving to destination and unloading. The clock stops at your last drop off location when the truck is empty and all set-up tasks are completed.

DO YOU REQUIRE A MINIMUM CHARGE?

No, At Hill Moving we do not have a minimum charge.

WHAT IS TRAVEL TIME?

Travel time is how long it takes us from your end location to one of our offices. 1 hr. minimum

WHAT IF I HAVE MORE THAN ONE PICK UP AND/OR DROP OFF LOCATIONS?

Any additional stops between the moves, there is no extra fee.

WHAT ELSE AM I BILLED FOR?

At Hills Moving we don’t have any extra or hidden fees.

WHEN DO I PAY THE BILL?

We require all payments to be made at the end of your move.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS ARE ACCEPTED?

Hills Moving accepts cash, major credit cards, and Interac email money transfers. We do not take personal or company checks.

DO YOUR MOVERS TAKE BREAKS?

Our movers don’t take breaks. If your move lasts longer than 4 hours, our movers are allowed one 30-minute break for lunch. This 30-minute break will not be included in the billing time.

HOW DO YOU PROTECT DURING TRANSPORTATION?

We wrap and cover all furniture with professional-grade cushioned moving blankets and shrink wrap.

AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR PACKING MY BELONGINGS?

We offer packing services if you are unable to pack on your own. You should arrange for packing services prior to your moving date to allow for sufficient planning. The time spent by our movers packing your items is billed according to our standard hourly rate. Having everything boxed up, packed, organized and ready to go prior to our arrival, will save you time and money.

DO YOU SUPPLY PACKING MATERIALS?

Yes. We can provide you with all packaging materials, including cardboard boxes, tape, bubble and shrink wrap, etc., these are all free and ship to your home. Additionally, we offer partial and full packing services on demand.

IS HILLS MOVING INSURED?

Yes, we are licensed, bonded and insured. With Hills Moving, your goods are covered. Basic insurance included in move. We will pay first $100.00 off your move if we were to damage any goods.
Extra coverage options include: $250 for $5,000 coverage and $425 per $10,000 coverage increment

WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE MY MOVE?

Please, contact us as soon as possible to arrange for a new move date. The sooner you give us notice, the easier it is to accommodate your needs.

DO YOU HAVE CANCELLATION FEES?

Your security deposit is non-refundable.

WHAT ABOUT BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS?

In heavy weather conditions (snow storms, heavy rains, wind conditions, etc.), all arrivals are subject to delays. If applicable, Hills Moving will reschedule the move to the next available date and time.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT THE MOVERS TO ARRIVE AT MY PICKUP AND DESTINATION SITES?

We understand that time is of the essence and we put a lot of effort in preventing delays. However, due to traffic or weather conditions, arrivals may be delayed by as much as 1 hour on our morning moves and up to 2 hours on afternoon ones. For instance, if the morning crew arrival is scheduled for 830am to 930am and the crew arrives at 1030am, there will be no discounts. If the mover arrival more than 1 hr. of schedule time there will be a discount of 10% off hourly rate.

WHAT IS YOUR POLICY REGARDING OVERTIME?

Hills Moving will pay for the overtime. The customer doesn’t pay any extra then the hourly rate.

IS THERE AN EXTRA FEE FOR STAIRS?

Hills Moving does not charge for stairs

DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA FEE FOR HANDLE APPLIANCES AND EXERCISE EQUIPMENT?

Hills Moving does not charge any fees for any appliances or exercise equipment.

DO YOU MOVE PIANOS?

Hills Moving moves upright pianos at no charge. Any other pianos will have extra fees

DO YOU MOVE PETS?

No we recommend that you transport all pets in your own vehicle.

DO YOU MOVE PLANTS?

We can move your plants if necessary. We strongly recommend moving your plants by yourself. We are not liable for any damage to your plants during transportation.
